Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge is saddened to announce the passing of former Lodge and
Section adviser Howard B. Olson during the weekend of October 31st. Mr.
Olson served as Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge Adviser from 1979 through 1982, when he was
selected to be OA Section Adviser. He served in that capacity until 1995.
Since then, and throughout his Scouting career, Mr. Olson has continued to
greatly influence generations of youth officers through years of dedicated
mentorship and sound judgment. Five of his Section Chiefs were elected as
national officers.

His effective advising of Scouts, Scouters and professionals for over four
decades has been the secret behind so many local, regional, and national
awards bestowed upon members of the Scouting family in Middle Tennessee.
In 1995, the Lodge named the OA Lodge Building at Boxwell Reservation in his
honor.
A graveside memorial service is set for Monday, November 3rd at 3:00PM at
the Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home in Nashville. Mr. Olson is survived
by his wife Gloria, children Chris, Gary, Vincent, and Ramona, four
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
