arrowmen - this is a reminder of the service opportunity to happen this
coming week-end, august 7th and 8th, at first farragut united methodist
church, 12733 kingston pike, in farragut. the free giveaway will
include
a
second harvest truckload of food, school supplies, and children's
clothing.
the food truck will arrive on Friday morning, and volunteers will unload
fragile produce at that time. everything else needs to be unloaded
Friday
evening and arranged on tables for distribution on Saturday morning.
SCOUTS
ARE NEEDED ON FRIDAY EVENING - TRY TO BE THERE BY 5:30. those wishing
to
remain at the church overnight are welcome to do so. snacks will be
served. showers are available.
breakfast will be served about 7:00 on Saturday morning. volunteers
will
arrive about 8:00, and the distribution will begin at 9:00. scouts are
needed to help visitors shop and to load their cars. you should be in
complete field uniform, with sash, looking your best and on scout
behavior. the
whole process should be complete by about noon. after it's over many
people
will appreciate what you have done, and you will feel good about it.
the church would like to have a count of the scouts and scouters who will
attend and partake of the snacks and breakfast. let me know as soon as
you
can - hopefully by Thursday evening or Friday morning, by phone or by
reply
to this message.
